NYC's Special Education district is a demeaning ghetto of neglect. There’s no socioeconomic meaning to "ghetto" here. Rather, I define it as "any segregated mode of living or working that results from bias.” The Dept. of Ed treats D75 like a bastard stepchild. Students with the highest needs are walled off and left to languish in the hands of the worst, most intolerant, most ignorant, and shockingly inept staff, scoffing at self-reflection and best practices.
